Apparently Wonder Woman’s sexuality is one of the most important things about her that everyone’s confused about, so writer Greg Rucka decided to clear the air once and for all.
Wonder Woman is “canonically queer”. More specifically, bi-sexual. Who’d have thunk coming from a Lesbos-styled island with women only.
The writer of Wonder Woman Year One story arc, spoke on how Wonder Woman being queer and why it would make “no logical sense otherwise”:
When you start to think about giving the concept of Themyscira its due, the answer is, ‘How can they not all be in same sex relationships?’ Right? It makes no logical sense otherwise… But an Amazon doesn’t look at another Amazon and say, ‘You’re gay.’ They don’t. The concept doesn’t exist.
In retrospect, I personally believed the island was almost like a nunnery, but obviously if you grew up on an island with just women your bound to become a good DJ. Like Ibiza. Good times. And let’s not overlook the BDSM / dominatrix getup and persona.
So will we be seeing Gal Gadot getting all frisky with another femme fatale? Maybe a flirty session with Margot Robbie in the greenlit Harley Quinn film? One can only dream. But what do you think? The most obvious, unworthy news article or a puzzler? Let’s hear it in the comment section.
