Donald Glover, amongst many things- a writer, actor and musician, is set to also make an appearance in cast of Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. And this has us with a slight smirk on our faces, given Donald’s complicated relationship with the wall crawler (that Twitter campaign for him to become the new Spider-Man during Sony days got him equal measures of support, disdain or pure unwarranted racial hate (like that hate is ever warranted…).
He has since then voiced Miles’ Spider-Man in the Disney XD animation Ultimate Spider-Man, and now is cast in the first Marvel movie for the web-crawler.
Not much has been revealed about his character, but Glover joins a big cast including Michael Keaton as a villain (he’s back in talks after briefly being out of the running), Marisa Tomei as Aunt May and Zendaya as the female lead. And of course, Tom Holland as our friendly neigbourhood Spider-Man
Also on board are Tony Revolori and Laura Harrier. Robert Downey Jr. will appear as Tony Stark/Iron Man.
And as far as ideas for the new Spider-Man narrative… we certainly have a few ideas…
Spider-Man: Homecoming comes to theatres in July 7th 2017
