SMITE‘s going through some ch-ch-ch-changes for the anticipated season 3, and by the look of things, it’s for the better.
Hi-Rez studios confirmed that they are also introducing a ranked 3-on-3 mode, Joust. There will also be a soft reset in League mode, and players will need to re-qualify for the new season.
Daily login bonuses are also coming into effect where players get to complete daily set tasks and completing said tasks put players well on the course to collect gems and other currency. No one wants to have to wait 6 days of login in everytime to cash in. So this definitely is good news.
Starting with season three, each debuff will have a single icon, making it more succinct in who attacks you and their method of attack inflicted on you. At the moment theres countless of icons floating around, each one different to tell you whether you’ve been stunned, silenced etc. depending on which character inflicted the status upon you, which does get a bit tedious.
Hi-Rez is also doing away with active items, as it seems not many players are purchasing them, particularly the casual gamer. So now these items are being replaced with relics, which are free to obtain at level 1 and at level 12. Bonus is their power will be at critical effectiveness, so no need for purchasing upgrades.
All in all, SMITE‘s announced changes seems to be focused on user experience, which is always a good thing.
SMITE is available now to play on Xbox One and PC
