CAPCOM seems to be on the verge of bringing back a classic PS2 era game back to the forefront- Onimusha.
Apparently, Capcom has registered a new trademark for Onimusha, which only can mean one thing… well a few things, but the most likely is the franchise is set to make a comeback.
In the original game release back in 2001, focused on the narrative surrounding a Sengoku-era Japanese samurai Samanosuke, who took on the nefarious, demonic forces of Nobunaga Oda. Think Resident Evil, only with samurai swords and special magic incantations. The game was swiftly followed by Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, Onimusha 3: Demon Siege (starring Leon-actor Jean Reno) and Onimusha 4: Dawn of Dreams.
More news as things develop.
