Makoto Shinkai announces “Your Name.” anime

Makoto Shinkai announces the coming of his new anime feature your name. anime, known as Kimi no na ha. in Japan.

The narrative circles around the two separate lives of high school students Mitsuha Miyamizu (a girl living in a rural mountain community) and Taki Tachibana, a boy in Tokyo. Though they have never met, they are tangibly connected through the power of their dream to the point they see each other in them. What follows is “a tale of love and miracles” that brings their separate worlds melding into one.

To put it simply, Shinkai’s work gives us a lot of hope in this post-Ghibli/Hayao Miyazaki world. The animation, background and FX art is absolutely stunning, with a very rich palette that is paramount to your eyes feasting on fine cuisine
