krypton syfy series. The Action Pixel. @TheActionPixelDavid S. Goyer has let off some new information about the Syfy / DC Comics TV series, Krypton, which is currently in-development. The series will look to explore Superman’s homeworld at the height of its civilisation. 200 years before Superman’s existence, in fact.

Goyer explains:

It [Krypton] takes place 200 years before Man of Steel. We’re treating Krypton like it’s a historical piece. We look to previous cultures on Earth to model what that would be like… We scratched the surface [of Krypton] in the [Man Of Steel] film and, for me, that was the allure. I was always fascinated, as a kid, with the books about Krypton and they’ve only shaded in a tiny bit, so we’ll learn about the politics of the world. We’ll learn about the culture, the art, all the different guilds.

So while we will have Krypton and capitol city Kryptopolis will be the main focus, Goyer promises we are bound to have some off-world environments too. Plus of course the other cities on Krypton including Kandor (which Brainiac shrunk down to the size of a figurine to add to his literal collection of worlds) and Argo City.
