Actor Henry Czerny is the latest to be cast in the CBS Supergirl series to play the roll of Winslow Schott. To comic fans in the know, that is the name of nemesis Toyman, who has the knack for creating the type of toys and gadgets that aren’t safe for kids… they tend to have a lot moving part, explosives… you know, the usual bad guy stuff.
Of course, Toyman’s story has been tweaked and evolved over the years in DC Comics, but as expected CBS’ version of Toyman is slightly different. There’s a kid involved, so it makes his love for toys less creepy:
Winslow Schott, Sr. is a classic D.C. supervillain, a mad criminal genius known as Toyman – and Winn’s estranged father. Toyman weaponizes toys to wreak destruction and revenge but is ultimately driven by one thing – the obsessive desire to reunite with his beloved son.
Supergirl airs Mondays on CBS 8:30 p.m. ET/PT
