Stephen Amell, at the tail of the shocker of a finale of Arrow Season 3, is reported as saying to E! Online that
Arrow is done. No more Arrow suit. I’ve worn it for the last time.
Firstly there are many ways this can be interpreted. For one the worse interpretation is Amell, who plays Oliver Queen, will be MIA and someone new takes the mantle. Or secondly, and most likely, Amell is speaking of Season 3 wrapping up, and the Arrow suit as we know it may change, maybe to something more in line with his portrayal in the comic.
Amell goes on to say he doesn’t know what the series is going for season 4, broad picture wise, but what Marc Guggenheim made clear recently, the tone of Arrow come season 4 will be a lot brighter.
Arrow returns in the fall for its fourth season, with Damien Darhk and H.I.V.E. serving as the primary antagonists, while other plot threads from the first three seasons will almost certainly continue to play roles with A.R.G.U.S., the League of Assassins and a newly-christened Ra’s al Ghul in the form of Malcolm Merlyn.
Arrow will air Wednesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on The CW
