kariba. the blue water collective. the action pixel. entertainment on tap. @theactionpixelkariba. the blue water collective. the action pixel. entertainment on tap. @theactionpixelBased on folklore of the Nyami Nyami, the Zambezi river God or Zambezi snake spirit, one of the most important gods of the Tonga people, which doesn’t seem to happy having the Kariba dam cage in what the natives consider the god of the Zambezi Valley. And what a rich story worthy of animation as in legend the Zambezi is depicted to have the body of a snake and the head of a fish, a whirlpool or a river dragon, the Nyami Nyami is seen as the god of Zambezi Valley and the river before the creation of the Kariba Dam.

Directed by Daniel Clarke the short concept animation is full of promise, and has a real sense of vibrance and fantasy within nature you would find in a Princess Mononoke-esque animation.

Check out the current state of the film on Facebook.
