Director Michelle MacLaren leaves Wonder Woman film over “Creative Differences”

We honestly wish we could say we didn’t see this coming. But it seems Michelle MacLaren has totally removed herself from being director of DC Comics/ WB’s Wonder Woman film. The departure from the project was cued up by the Warner Bros. studio as “creative difference”. Which kind of leaves a bad taste in your mouth.

Having such an impeccable record working on sets of Breaking Bad and Game Of Thrones, all character -driven juggernauts in modern film, her departure has the comic and film fan in us worried. So if these “creative differences” are over character issues, then one should possibly be worried about other films in the DCU that are affected by the presence of the Warrior Princess. The truth behind the PC studio statement may never be know. Think it be time for that lasso.

The studio was in the middle of pre-production trying to secure actors for the various roles. But from the point rumour surfaced that the Wonder Woman film was not even being officially greenlit by WB, though it was publicly announced, sent up a few red flags for us, like the right hand doesn’t know what the left hand was doing.

Gal Gadot is still attached to the project to star as Wonder Woman. Whether filming will commence this Autumn is yet to be seen.
