While fans who bought the game originally released in 2009 on Games For Windows Live will be able to automatically upgrade to the full Steamworks version, any DLC purchased with the original game is non-transferable. This is due to the original DLC’s gamers acquired back in the games prime doesn’t have a CD or activation key.

Steamworks version includes all of the Gold Edition content for Resident Evil 5‘s Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 versions.

CAPCOM promise that saved data / achievements will also be transferable, however fans will have to wait after Steamworks’ launch date for this feature and keep their eyes peeled for updates via Steamworks forums.
