Marvel brings back Runaways ahead of Secret Wars

battleworld Runaways. the action pixel. @theactionpixelWith hyper-event Marvel has been peddling to the comic shelves known as Secret Wars, some great news sees a bit of nostalgia creeping in before the extinction level event. With the Battleworld aiming to be the future of Marvel’s Universe with heroes strewn across desolate scapes, undoubtedly their would be some rebellion from a slightly younger generation. Well, those rebels come back in the form of Runaways.

battleworld Runaways. the action pixel. @theactionpixelThe brightest teens who get caught up in the alternate reality of Battleworld go for re-education where they find out the headmaster the student discover their principal is actually a super-villain. Very reminiscent of Bryan K. Vaughan’s original series.

These new Runaways members however may include the likes of Cloak, Dagger, Hulk’s son Skaar, Jubilee, Bucky (as a teen, not the Winter Soldier from the regular 616 Marvel universe), young genius Amadeus Cho, and a new character named Sanna… at minimum. Fantastic Four‘s Mr. Fantastic and Sue’s daughter Valeria may also be a candidate.

Noelle Stevenson, the artist and writer behind the phenomenal Lumberjane is set to usher in this new age of Runaways.

Marvel’s Runaways is due out in May 2015
