Drew Goddard to direct New Spider-Man Film

Spider-Man return to the MCU was welcomed by many, and Sony have found their new director Drew Goddard to usher the transition of Spidey in the upcoming 2017 film. This move is to make Spidey fighting-ready for the Avengers and Sinister Six in the future.

The director is well known for his directorial debut Cabin In The Woods, which he co-wrote with Marvel-vet Joss Whedon. Connections… everywhere.

The Spectacular Spider-Man is speculated to be the new title, and if the comic series of the same name is any indication of what to expect, we should be Spider-Man and Iron Man duke it out in a superhero “jump-in” as Spider-Man tries to show his worth in becoming part of the Avengers. Surely also setting things up for the impending conflict between the Webslinger and the Sinister Six supervillan group to appear in their own title film and (subsequent) spin-offs.

But will Sony / Marvel’s Spider-Man be Peter Parker or Miles Morales is still something that needs to be distinctively confirmed.
