We admit, when we got wind that Superman would be discovering that he has a new power, we wondered how it would play out. Super Flare is the name of the new power, and it essentially is somewhere between a “Flame-On” Johnny Storm and a nuclear explosion.
So we had the name and a glimpse at the new super destructive ability. So leave it to the World’s greatest detective Batman to explain exactly what the power is:
It looks like your heat vision is actually a precursor to another ability you possess. You unleashed the energy stored in every one of your cells. You created a solar flare, Clark. A super flare.

Also revealed is Superman’s new costume, which still adheres to the original, so nothing wild, but their are a few notable deferences in the wrist guards, collar, and sleek, New 52 lines and no red tighty trunks:

We think it’s a nice addition to the list of powers on Superman’s roster, and seeing how Superman holds back most of the time, we can get how this “Super Flare” power could go unnoticed and remain earthed. Let’s hope there are no radiation issues.
