Michelle Yeoh among the first cast members announced for CBS’ “Star Trek Discovery”

Star Trek does fans a solid by releasing the first set of cast names that will appear in the upcoming CBS series Star Trek: Discovery
 

Doug Jones will star as “Lt. Saru”, a Starfleet Science Officer and a new alien species to the Star Trek universe. Michelle Yeoh, known for her iconic role in the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon franchise, will star as “Captain Georgiou”, the Starfleet Captain aboard the Starship Shenzhou. Anthony Rapp will star as “Lt. Stamets”, an astromycologist, fungus expert, and Starfleet Science Officer aboard the Starship Discovery.

As previously announced, Star Trek: Discovery will premiere in May 2017 on CBS All Access, the CBS Television Network’s subscription video on-demand and live streaming service.
