Looks like Zelda focusing its efforts on an update come E3 2016 is because Nintendo has got plans for Link beyond the Wii U console

Nintendo revealed that it intend to delay the Legend of Zelda game until 2017. Not only that, but the fabled game will set to make its premiere on both Wii U and the new forthcoming NX console.

And with the NX launching in March 2017, we expect the game will premiere as a flagship game for the new Nintendo console.

And it’s certainly something Nintendo needs after reporting record losses plunging 61% in fiscal 2015. Maybe NX and Zelda will be the jolt it needs.
