It’s not gonna happen and that breaks my greasy heart.

These were the fateful words from co-director Guillermo del Toro when a fan asked him on the current situation of Silent Hills. Since Kojima’s departure from Konami after MGSV, there seems to quite some turmoil from Kojima’s branding being stricken off of the PT and rumours on top of rumours.

Even The Walking Dead’s Norman Reedus, who starred in the Silent Hills Playable Teaser, claimed on Twitter that the game was ‘axed’ in its entirety.

Konami has broken the silence, somewhat, and spoke on the cancellation rumours claiming “our contract period with Norman Reedus has expired” but that they will “continue to develop the Silent Hill series”.

Different versions from different camps on the same project. Everything just seems up in the air. Whether we will see Silent Hills in the future seems very unlikely, seeing their pulling the PT out of the Playstation store.
