They say if you want something, just speak it into the universe. Henry Cavill is on the verge of shaking of the infamous “Superman Curse” as the actor sets his sights on new IP. And he has been on Instagram pushing the idea and his interest of taking up the role of Geralt of Rivia in The Witcher TV series on Netflix. Well, now it is so. Cavill is set to star as the legendary hoary-haired monster slayer in the coming Netflix adaptation.
The series will be based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s fantasy novels, and if they keep true to the spirit that guided CD Projekt Red’s prolific The Witcher game series, then the production surely is in good hands.
Lauren Schmidt Hissrich, known for her work on Marvel’s Daredevil and The Defenders series, will serve as showrunner for the first season, which will consist of eight episodes. And Games Of Thrones director / cinematographer Alik Sakharov is set to map out the first four episodes, including the pilot.
More as things develop.
