It looks like Angry Birds has set in motion an exodus of mobile games to the big screen. After all, triple A games like Ubisoft’s Assassin’s Creed can’t have all the fun. Now news has come that the mobile app game, Fruit Ninja, has a movie in development.

The game has racked up a billion + downloads to date. Tripp Vinson, partnering up with Halfbrick Studios, will produce the movie under his Vinson Films production banner. J.P. Lavin and Chad Damiani, who recently adapted an equally out-there concept, How to Survive a Garden Gnome Attack, will pen the script for Fruit Ninja.

It’s set to be a live-action family comedy.

More news as things develop.
