Zachary Levi is the Big Red Cheese in upcoming DC movie “Shazam!”

We’ve been knowing for a while who Black Adam is, with the prolific Dwayne The Rock’ Johnson getting his own solo project as the DC villain.
 

But it seems after a long casting hiatus, DC has announced who is set to be the Big Cheese come Shazam!. Captain Marvel aka Shazam! will be portrayed by actor Zachary Levi. Surely to play the adult version.

Shazam! follows the narrative of Billy Batson, a boy who by uttering the word “Shazam!” can transform into a colossus powerful fully-grown superhero. The name is an acronym of the ancient world gods and historical figures Solomon, Hercules, Atlas, Zeus, Achilles and Mercury, from which the big Batson derives his heroic attributes when in adult form.

David F. Sandberg will direct the film for New Line.
