X-Men’s Cable for Deadpool 2

deadpool. 20th century fox. marvel. the action pixel. @theactionpixelFOX recently took a bit of a hit re: Marvel-franchise film Fantastic Four (and the reason for it was to do more with the 20th Century Fox micromanaging than it had to do with one casting). Fanboys. But in anycase, Deadpool seems to be heading in the right direction.

deadpool vs cable. marvel. the action pixel. @theactionpixelAnd if the film is a success, a sequel is surely to follow. According to director Tim Miller talking to Empire Magazine, fans can expect an archnemesis of the merc to make an appearance… non other than X-Men’s Cable:

There aren’t really many definitive Deadpool villains, apart from Cable. If we don’t put Cable in Deadpool 2, I think we’ll be run out of town on a rail.

In the comics, one of Deadpool’s first jobs was being hired to kill Cable and the New Mutants. They’ve also appeared together in a Marvel series set for October called Split Second. Split Second is new Marvel series consisting of six digital-first comic issues featuring D’pool and Cable.

Deadpool synopsis reads:

Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humour, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

The film will be directed by Tim Miller, and stars Ryan Reynolds, Morena Baccarin, Ed Skrein and Gina Carano. Plus we can expect to see X-Men’s Colossus making an appearance too.

Deadpool is scheduled for a theatrical release on February 12th2016
