The Batman at the very least hasbeen one of the many epicentres of turmoil in the DC Universe. First it’s happening, then it might not be, then Affleck is still working things out, then he’s happy with the script, then not happy with the script, then he’s not sure whether he’ll be directing, then Affleck not directing The Batman, then WB execs stiffling the creative process then rumours of him leaving the Batman role after JL all together, then Affleck being happy with the script again. It’s been a fog of disarray and confusion, DC.

But now it’s confirmed The Batman film has found itself a new director in Matt Reeves. This is the guy behind War for the Planet Of The Apes over on 20th Century Fox.

So technically there is a script and director in place. Our guess is they’ll probably start shooting later this year.

Until then, we’ll see what else develops.
