Morbius The Living Vampire is the lates addition to the Sony slate of Spider-Man related characters to get their ‘spinoff’ films, which include Venom, Black Cat, Silver Sable and the Miles Morales’ Spider-Man animated feature.

The character, first introduced in the Spider-Man comics, is Dr. Michael Morbius, a scientist who suffered from a rare blood disease. A grievous mishap in an attempted to cure himself left him with an vampiric affliction — the thirst for blood, fangs, super strength and the whole nine. He’s tussled with Spidey over the years, with latest interpretations of the character leaning to more of an anti-hero / tragic hero kinda guy.

And seeing that this slew of films will likely not include Tom Holland’s Spider-Man or Marvel Studio’s obvious input, it will be interesting to see Sony can make a decent run of the Spider-Man franchise the third time around.

More as things develop.
