invader zim Banner. The action pixel. @theactionpixelIf you were alive and your life was worth anything in the early 2000’s, you know Invader Zim. It was by far the best animated series Nickelodeon has put on, and after it dissappeared from our screens, there has been a great vast vacuum of emptiness inside us all.

Well the little green man with the great meat allergy is making his way back to the public eye via the comic book series being published under the Oni Press. Check out the artwork:invader zim Banner. The action pixel. @theactionpixel

Synopsis reads:

I’m always confused when people say how much they miss Invader Zim because the show never stopped running in my head, and then I remember everyone else isn’t in my head. I try to imagine the world for all those people who don’t know what Zim’s been up to since the show went off the air and it makes me shudder. How can people live that way? Hopefully this comic helps make the world a better place

Nickelodeon TV is working in conjunction with Oni Press and the show’s original creator Jhonen Vasquez to bring the infamous alien invader to the comic. Oni Press had this to say about the coming Invader Zim series:

I’m always confused when people say how much they miss Invader Zim because the show never stopped running in my head, and then I remember everyone else isn’t in my head. I try to imagine the world for all those people who don’t know what Zim’s been up to since the show went off the air and it makes me shudder. How can people live that way? Hopefully this comic helps make the world a better place.

Well let’s hope, amongst other things, that this comic series is not just a good read but a precursor to another animated season. Because just to hear Gir go haywire and references to pigs is enough to bring a smile on anyone’s face.

Invader Zim Issue #1 out July 1st 2015
