“Hellboy” first look images get released, complete with an existential crisis
Lionsgate welcomes us comic fans to hell on earth with the recent release of the 2019 Hellboy movie trailer released yesterday and the poster recently too. Now we get to see new images hailing from the hellish ensemble, including a look at the members of the supernatural regulatory force – the BDRD. We also get a nice view of Milla Jovovich’s Blood Queen and the Hellboy himself.

Actor David Harbour, who plays the titular red beast of a demon, spoke on the premise of Hellboy:
It’s not an origin story, but it’s his coming to terms with where he came from. He’s been Hellboy for a long time, but there’s a new turn of events at the start of the film, where people start to bring up the fact that he might bring about the end of the world, and it’s really the first time he’s heard anything like that. The question that comes up in the movie is where does he really belong?
And it seems the big guy is experiencing a little existential crisis as he has to come to grips with certain realities. Grab life by the horns so to speak. Mainly grappling with the fact that he is virtually a hellspawn demon who has been marked to become the king of all hell and the harbinger of the end of all existence. At least his prospects are real. Much more than many of us can say. Privileged bastard.
Hellboy has some star power attached to it with the likes of David Harbour, Milla Jovovich, Ian McShane and Penelope Mitchelle, Daniel Dae Kim and Sasha Lane.
The Hellboy script is being worked on by Aron Coleite from a draft by Andrew Cosby, Christopher Golden and Hellboy creator Mike Mignola.
Hellboy is slated for cinematic release comes April 12th 2019
