Now news has surfaced that the pilot episode has found its director.

Nicole Kassell is slated direct and executive produce the Watchmen pilot from Damon Lindelof.

Kassell has previously directed episodes of HBO and Lindelof’s The Leftovers, as well as having directed episodes for series including The Americans, Vinyl, American Crime, The Following, Better Call Saul, The Killing and The Closer.

So, in short, its all in very capable hands. And with the series aiming to be an R-rated comic book TV series, which sounds like a first, and being on HBO, the channel that arguably set the trend for high-end award-winning TV series that now bolsters the likes of Netflix, there may be hope that this will give the franchise justice.
