marvel disney vs fox. the action pixel. @theactionpixelWe know Fox’s relationship with Marvel, and by extension, Disney, is rocky at best. And with Fox having the film rights to Marvel bread earners like X-Men and Fantastic Four, Marvel has been scaling back comic production on related titles. Scratch that, killing them dead in the tracks.

X-Men Apocalypse is coming out in theatres via 20th Century Fox. So no merchandising or any thing in the way of new characters that Fox could use later in other film productions. Deadpool‘s coming out in cinemas too in 2016. So Marvel killed off the mouthy merc. How about Wolverine? Killed him off in the comics too.

This galactic conflict has lead to immature spats spouted off in Marvel comics killing off Michael B Jordan and the cast of Fantastic 4.

Now Disney has taken the hatchet to its most popular franchises to which FOX own the film rights to.

Marvel CEO Ike Perlmutter has cancelled planned merchandising for the Fantastic Four and X-Men brands, which include posters, t-shirts and statues of the heroes are being replaced at XM Studios.

XM studios latest update via social media read like a sad love letter:

Folks, it’s been a sad day for us… due to reasons we aren’t at liberty to disclose, we have been asked to put a hard stop to all X-Men characters for now. That means Cable can’t be released, and neither can the awesome Sentinel Diorama which we’ve all been so looking forward to. Still, we continue to have faith that this isn’t an indefinite red light forever and you can have our promise we will be back to producing these dream pieces once the coast is clear – no matter how long it takes!

Sounds like we are set for a whole new Secret Wars, FOX’s lawyers versus Disney’s Lawyers.
