the New 52. Dc comics. the action pixel. @theactionpixelIt seems 2015 is the year for apocalyptic shake ups in the comic universe. With Marvel flirting with the detonator button with Secret Wars, DC Comics has released the news that they will be bring their New 52 comic narrative arc to a close.

DC however promises narrative continuity even with the departure of the New 52 series. June 3rd sees a whole new post-New 52 line of comics, not to mention 24 brand new comic titles. New stories and characters are always a good thing in our humble opinion.

DC Entertainment Co-Publisher Dan DiDio commented on what surely will spell new horizons for the comic publishers and be a pivotal point in how they move forward:

This heralds in a new era for the DC Universe which will allow us to publish something for everyone, be more expansive and modern in our approach and tell stories that better reflect the society around us. Whether you’ve been a DC fan your whole life, or whether you are new to comics – there will be a book for you beginning in June

DC’s ending the New 52 comes after Convergence in April / May which sees braniac create an new prison-habitat for the heroes that populate the DC multiverse. So in many senses DC’s Convergence is like Marvel’s Secret Wars. Converging of different universes, being forcibly assimilated in foreign constructed habitats…
