Actor to play Doctor Strange confirmed!

The rumours are finally at a close, after weeks of rumours and masterful dodging by Benedict Cumberbatch, said actor has been confirmed as the great Doctor Strange for the new movie scheduled for release in 2016. This news comes by way of Marvel’s website, who up to now have been very tight lipped on any potential lead.  Set to be directed by Scott Derrickson, with a screenplay penned by Jon Spaihts. Doctor Strange will follow the iconic neurosurgeon Doctor Stephen Strange who, after a horrific car accident, discovers the hidden world of magic and alternate dimensions.

The producer, Kevin Feige stated:

“Stephen Strange’s story requires an actor capable of great depth and sincerity, in 2016, Benedict will show audiences what makes Doctor Strange such a unique and compelling character.”
