Netflix is surely stepping their anime and game film franchises up in one sweep, with the likes of their Castlevania series, having Season 2 being set only weeks away from launch.

Now it looks like the film-streaming giant has their sights set on another popular game franchise that they want to translate into an animated series – Blizzard Entertainment/Activision’s very own Diablo.

Hellboy reboot and Eureka writer Andrew Cosby confirmed himself to be in the last leg of the talks to be both writer and showrunner for the the new animated series, if greenlit by Netflix:

I can confirm I am indeed in final talks to write and show-run the new Diablo animated series for Activision and Netflix. It’s very exciting and I hope to the High Heavens it all works out

And just like the Netflix’s Castlevania animated series, Cosby stated the Diablo animated series would “definitely be rated R.”

More as things develop.
