Many have waited with baited breath. Others with pronounced skepticism. Regardless of where you stood, news of Superman’s first official movie trailer–and the true start of the Gunn-led DCU, has finally landed with an impetus… and a bruised, fetal-poised Superman.

And what follows are some very striking simulcrum and short-sweet vignettes of DC’s lesser known characters (only to the non-avid comic book fans). I certainly felt a little giddy as these characters got a little limelight, making for what argueable looks like the most promising Superman film we have seen since… well, Man Of Steel. The trailer teases a lot, but ultimately, keeps the story in the tuck. Which is good.

And Mr. Terrific, a near comical off the look Guy Gardner and Hawkgirl feature in the trailer two. All stunners.

The only thing I personally would say that is more of a concerning observation than a criticism–Krypto. Michael Bay has explosions. Zach Snyder has IP-inspired moments. James Gunn has fun/cute animals/critters. All a crutch that becomes painfully obvious when the narrative is lacking. Our hope is this is not that. I mean, the dog is cute.
