It was the ‘clapback’ that saw a whole new phase and resignation of the so-called console wars. Since Microsoft/Xbox acquisition of Bethesda, Sony Playstation ‘response’ has been not as dramatic as it has been tongue and cheek. Sony Interactive Entertainment has officially completed its $3.7 billion deal to acquire Bungie. And with Bungie being the studio behind Destiny and every Halo game up to Halo: Reach (all X-Box classics) you can’t help but appreciate the irony.

The name of the game is consumption, so would not be surprised to see bigger scale acquisitions like this happen in the future, with Sony and Xbox at the helm for most.
