The cast of the coming Sony Animations’ Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse – the sequel to Into the Spider-Verse – gives us a plethora of time and space-warping villainy . And this particular rogue gallery of villains digs deep into the lore of Spider-Man, without overly hashing into the obvious.

Jason Schwartzman has been cast to voice The Spot. And those spots all over his body allow him to generate black holes that can send him or his enemies hurtling through time and space of his choosing. Perfect multiverse madness.

The character first appeared in 1985’s Peter Parker, The Spectacular Spider-Man #98. And seeing his powers originated from a science experiment gone wrong whilst working for the Kingpin – the villainous ties to Fisk may very well be this character’s introduction into the movie.

Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse Part One is slated to premiere in cinemas come June 2, 2023
