The Bat and The Cat are making their rounds worldwide in cinemas as The Batman gives a robust though at times laboured outing of Pattinson’s Dark Knight. And as if on cue, the frenzy continues to build as DC Comics announces a new -The Batman-spinoff. No, not the Gordon project. But a new series based around Colin Farrell’s portrayal of the mid-level crime boss – The Penguin.

Not much has been revealed thus far, including whether the plot is post or pre events that take place in The Batman. However the film is still in the conceptual/development stages as The Penguin is identified by DC Comics as a “working title”.

“The Penguin” is also set to be TV series with a limited run, seeing the return of Colin Farrell in the titular role of Oswald. The series is destined to premiere on the HBO Max streaming platform.

Matt Reeves, Dylan Clark, Colin Farrell, and Lauren LeFranc are also set to serve as executive producers.
