It’s a dark dystopian drudge of a future in the coming anime series Blade Runner: Black Lotus, and unlike our current dystopia, we are so here for it. The trailer does look somewhat promising in the aesthetics department, and looks to extend the universe of Blade Runner.

Undoubtedly, this all was spurred on by the series of shorts that built hype around the Blade Runner 2049 movie

Granted the amnesiac protagonist in a strange world looks to rediscover themselves, all-the-while muscle memories of their former-self comes in waves, is a tired trope, but we’re willing to give it a go.

Description reads:

Experience the future with BLADE RUNNER: BLACK LOTUS — an Adult Swim and Crunchyroll original animated series inspired by the award-winning and critically lauded Blade Runner movie franchise, coming this fall. This thrilling thirteen episode series is directed by Shinji Aramaki and Kenji Kamiyama and produced by Alcon Entertainment and animation studio Sola Digital Arts, with Shinichiro Watanabe serving as a creative producer.
