Image Comics’ “Bitter Root” is being adapted into a feature film

Image Comics very own Bitter Root comic series is about to go from legendary status to Legendary feature as the comic is reportedly being adapted for the silver screen. The Bitter Root comic book feature film has also got a director (and producer) attached. Regina King. Yes, that Regina King.

Bitter Root plot takes place in 1924 in front of the backdrop of a carnivalesque Harlem Renaissance. Here a dysfunctional, eccentric family of once-great monster hunters faces an unimaginable evil that descends upon the city of New York. For generations, the Sangeryes have hunted and cured those infected by a supernatural force that feeds off the prejudice of the era, transforming human beings into hideous monsters. With most of the family dead, and the surviving Sangeryes at odds between saving or killing the creatures, they must overcome the wounds of the past in the hopes of thwarting an invasion.

And King has been making a lot of noise on the directorial front, bringing her experience as an actor and producer will only serve the greater for this upcoming feature.
