Lionsgate’s Borderlands movie – based on the Gearbox Software game franchise – continues to stack up the casting list as it is revealed Jack Black has joined the line-up as the loveable overlord robot assistant short of a few bolts and screws – Claptrap.

Surely he will be voicing the little robot guy and belting out instructions to his minions. Which is, by all appearances, anyone that is human.

This means the actor will be joining the already assembled cast member for Borderlands including Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland and Jamie Lee Curtis as Tannis.

Eli Roth, the director of the Borderlands movie, spoke on the news of the casting:

I am so excited to reunite with Jack, this time in the recording booth. Claptrap is the funniest character in the game, and Jack is perfect to bring him to the big screen.

More as things develop.
