HBO’s “The Last Of Us” TV series casts Joel and Ellie

HBO’s been racking up the wins of late with their streaming service HBO Max and the impending 2021 WB Pictures feature movies setting to premiere there. Now news comes to fans regarding HBO’s planned TV series adaptation based on the prolific Naughty Dog franchise – The Last Of Us. The titular roles of both Ellie and Joel have now been filled.

Confirmed to play Ellie is Bella Ramsey. The actor is best known for her work on Game Of Thrones portraying Lyanna Mormont.

And Ramsey is to be joined by another GOT alum, who is also, most recently, has the star role in Disney’s The Mandalorian. Actor Pedro Pascal will be taking on the role of Joel.

The Last Of Us TV series narrative is set to take place 20 years after modern civilization has given way to a harsh, new reality. Joel, a survivor and man made numb by it all, gets hired to smuggle a 14-year-old Ellie out from an oppressive quarantined zone. Very 2020/21. The two travers the lands of the US and must learn to trust and depend on each other to survive the beasts of the land. Be it the infected zombie-like “clickers”, or just regular homicidal humans. We already know how much we suck.
