Disney+ extensive show of force with their coming Marvel and Star Wars franchise TV shows and movies, it would seem Disney has a considerable amount of faith in the coming Loki TV series. So much so that Loki Season 2 has been greenlit for production even before season one has premiered on the streaming platform.
This is contrary to the initial take on the Marvel series being more of the limited-run variety. However, Michael Waldron, the showrunner of the Marvel Disney+ series Loki revealed he’s expected to be involved in the development of the second season of Loki. Hence an ongoing series
Waldron is also pegged to write Kevin Feige’s Star Wars movie.
The narrative timeline of the Loki series exists between the events that occur Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok which has the god of mayhem and mischief traveling through time and space.
This ‘reality-time-space bending’ seems to be the over-arcing theme come Phase 4 of the Marvel-verse, but hopefully the set-pieces and fantasy will also make room for engaging and riveting story telling. Even though, technically, this is a Thor spin-off.
