Since talk of Sony Pictures + Spider-Man 3’s Electro making his way to the MCU, there has been quite a lot of speculation. Now there has been a new rumour that would suggest Marvel and Sony Pictures is greatly considering veering the net Spider-Man movie down the path of a multiverse-spawned narrative. If it is all true, that is.

It is being reported that the two noticeable actors to don the mantle of the Spider-Man – Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire – are set to join current Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in appearing in MCU’s third Spider-Man movie.

It is reported that they will appear closer to the end of the movie, which we found to be an ultra-specific timeframe, but again, if true would likely connote a post-credit scene. The return of the Spider-Men is said to be one of the ideas being entertained and floating around the writing table.

Undoubtedly, this move would certainly drop a few jaws, but just doing it for the sake of fandom with no narrative rudder to propel the move may end up hurting more than helping. Same for Electro. Humble opinion. It would be interesting to see though, if this were to happen, how the narrative will work out.

We always thought that Garfield’s Spider-Man didn’t get the fairest of shakes. It feels as well like we need a Spider-Man movie where Tom Holland can finally get to shine without the assist or being in the shadow of Iron Man. The Spidey features potentially could detract from that.
