The Rock most certainly made a splash at the DC Fandome event with his teaser for the Black Adam film he is set to star in as the titular anti-hero. But adding to that, he presented what his character would be spurning in the DC Universe.
Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson gave us a taste as to the featured DC heroes that would be flanking him come Black Adam. Among the roster is Dr Fate, Cyclone, Atom Smasher and Hawkman.
Dr. Fateis who I like to call the original Doctor Strange, and is a master of mystics. The original founding member of the Justice Society of America, Kent Nelson discovered the tomb of the wizard Nabu and was trained by him in the ways of sorcery in order to fight crime and the forces of evil.
Hawkman is often depicted as Katar Hol from the planet Thanagar, and is part of their law and enforcement. Doubt they would be going the reincarnated Egyptian route…
Atom Smasher will be giving Ant-Man a run for his money. Also known as Albert Rothstein, the hero has the ability to control his molecular structure, which gives him both super strength and the ability to shift his bodies weight and density.
And Cyclone, aka Maxine Hunkel. She certainly comes from the metahuman cloth, being the granddaughter of the original Red Tornado and, like the others above, is member of the Justice Society of America.
And for those privy to the Golden age of the Justice Society of America, you may be asking why there was no mention of Hawkgirl making an appearance, as she was a staple in the popular comics and the Justice League animated series. As it turns out, the Rock had an answer for this, though the details as to why she was left out was kept under wraps:
Hawk Girl was 💯 in our original JSA team. Sadly, it’s a complicated story I’ll share w the fans down the road. But it opened up the door for another awesome opportunity for another actress to come in and crush the role of Cyclone. I believe it all works out how it’s meant to 🥃
