“Birds Of Prey” is rated R

It seems DC Comics are buying into the adult spectrum of comic book-inspired movies following the likes of Deadpool, Logan and their recent Joker movie, as news hits the sphere that the upcoming Birds Of Prey movie will be rated R.
However, the reasons do not seem to be extreme as you’d think, though this may be our growing desensitisation to the more base of human savagery, but reasons cited for the rating are “strong violence and language throughout, and some sexual and drug material”.
Hopefully, this speaks more to the narrative’s natural trajectory than a ploy to fit a trend.
