Emperor Palpatine looms over the battle between light and dark in new “Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker” poster
And the battle rages on
When it comes to Episode IX of Star Wars – The Rise of Skywalker – the throwback to the ol’ motley crew of the Millenium Falcon won’t be the only nostalgic string pulled by Lucasfilm and Disney.
In the initial teaser, Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker all but hinted at the return of Emperor Palpatine.
Now, Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker follows on the heels of The Mandalorian at D23 Expo with an exclusive look at the first poster for the coming movie. And Palpatine seems rather pleased that the new generation of dark and light are keeping up tradition by going at it with lightsabers.

D23 Expo footage also seemed to show Rey flirting with the dark side, showing her dressed in dark robes holding a double red-bladed lightsaber. Whether this was a troll, much like The Last Jedi was with their dark Luke Skywalker key visual angle, then maybe it is not all that significant.
