In what surely is the offshoot of how popular, or readily identifiable the now-canonically cemented Bro Thor has become, it is no surprise Marvel Studios is ready to churn out another Thor movie.
Thor 4 is in the works, and whilst we have little idea what a Thor would be up to after Thor: Ragnarok, but with director Taika Waititi back at the helm, we suspect it would follow the more ‘comedic’ route of the third film.
Now, what this says for Akira, the live-action adaptation that was set to be directed by Taika Waititi, maybe the one that suffers. Thor is surely the safer bet. Especially when the Akira project has been put on hold indefinitely by Warner Bros. Pictures due to fundamental “script development concerns”. Yeesh.
But as the story stands, Taika Waititi is still in the runnings for directing the Akira film, and with the next flurry of Marvel Studio film slated to come in June 2022, it will like host the arrival of the God Of Thunder, give or take a few carbs.
