This is a new day. “How so?” you ask. Well, off rip, never have we ever seen backlash against a game movie adaptation that ended in a revamp of the edit and character design before the movie’s due date. Well, this seems to be the current course of the Sonic The Hedgehog movie that recently released its first official trailer.

In a tweet from director Jeff Fowler, it seems Paramount and the team behind the movie got a little whiff of all the backlash and criticisms for the design of the classic Sega blue speedster. Hell, Robotnik was possibly the only ‘win’ as far as the trailer went.

And so severe was the critique it seems it is forcing the team back to the drawing board:

Thank you for the support. And the criticism. The message is loud and clear. You aren’t happy with the design & you want changes. It’s going to happen. Everyone at Paramount & Sega are fully committed to making this character the BEST he can be… #sonicmovie #gottafixfast

Well, then add a little re-configuration of Sonic and a tighter edit, then the film may be in our saving graces. Until then, not exactly sure if the budget will be substantial enough for that much of an overhaul.

Things still developing.
