DOOM is certainly a survival horror game for the ages. And as if to remind us of the games resilience, John Romero, the creator of the game has made a whole new level in what must be the latest DLC update of all times, 21 years later.

Tech Gone Bad is the first level created for the game since its release in 1993. But fans can be happy with this late edition, as it is by means a segue to the coming DOOM game which turned heads at E3 and QuakeCon last year.

This new level can be played solo, cooperatively, or in a deathmatch-type mode.

To get the game, however isn’t as simple as downloading…

The level was created using Doom WAD, which is the modding tools Id Software released with Doom back in the 90’s. The level itself is available via this Dropbox link. You’ll need to own the original Doom and use ZDoom (or something similar) in order to play it. Additional instructions can be found here.

Happy gaming!

Doom is scheduled for release on PS4, Xbox One, and PC in Spring 2016
