This time ABC gets its cherry pickin’s from Damage Control, which has been set for pilot commitment.

In the comics, Damage Control is a quirky little poke at the superhero world, and follows the adventures of the guys responsible for cleaning up and dealing with the aftermath of superhero battles, alien invasions and the likes. And you thought all those cataclysmic debris just cleaned itself up.

Ben Karlin is writing the script for the series (He worked on both the Daily Show and Colbert Report), plus he will be executive producing the project with 3 Arts’ David Miner and Marvel’s Head of Television Jeph Loeb, and the series is aiming to be a half-hour live-action situational comedy, much in the style of The Office.

And though there has been no mention of which, if any Marvel heroes are set to show up, but in the comics, Damage Control is frequented by the likes of Ant-Man and Hercules.

An obvious contender is DC’s Powerless, which NBC is set to turn into a TV series. Again, it is similar to The Office re filming style, and takes place at in the worst insurance companies ever, which happens, even worse so, set in the smack middle of the precarious DC Comics Universe. Seems we got a comic war on our hands.
