Now this is a Deadpool we can get behind. Of course when it comes to Ryan Reynolds, many may point out Green Lantern’s poor debut or the lack lustre of his character in the even greater lack-lustre film of Wolverin Origins. But it seems after the years of waiting on Fox to pull the lead out, shooting the awesome test footage that seemed to have accumulated dust on some executive’s desk, the film is finally being shot. And it’s rated R. So that mean the psycopathic, quirky Deadpool we all know and love will be at full steam, not some PG-15 ensemble to bring in those annoying teens. This will cater to a more avid fan who loves their comic book action with some really far out, hairballed scenarios and scenes.
And to top it off, on the set of Deadpool, Rob Liefeld popped in to take a pic with Ryan Reynolds, and on instagram gave a long epistle which goes to show just how long Deadpool has been in the making and how the Internet played an integral part in lighting a fire under FOX to bring what is sure to be one of the more unique comic hero film to the forefront:
Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, DEADPOOL tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.
