Theactionpixel @theactionpixelEven more worrying is the name change of Kojima Productions to Konami Los Angeles studio, a development that would put shivers down the spine of any Metal Gear Solid fan, further compounded by the removal of any mention from Konami’s website. Though possibly more troubling, mention of Kojima Productions was even removed from the MGS V wesbite. Konami recently responded to these rumours with the following.

In a statement provided to, a Konami representative said:

Konami Digital Entertainment, including Mr. Kojima, will continue to develop and support Metal Gear products. Please look forward to future announcements.

This doesn’t mention Silent Hills anywhere, which comes off as a tad troubling.

A further statement by Konami was as follows:

As we have already announced, we are shifting our production structure to a headquarters-controlled system, in order to establish a steadfast operating base capable of responding to the rapid market changes that surround our digital entertainment business,” read the statement. “Konami Digital Entertainment (including Mr. Kojima), will continue to develop and support Metal Gear products. Please look forward to future announcements.

The final nail in the coffin came soon afterwards:

After we finish MGSV, Mr. Kojima and upper management will leave Konami. They said their contract ends in December. At a team meeting, Mr Kojima explained that team have to be one and make a good game for fans.

Let’s hope that good game is a great one. We at TAP wish good luck to Mr. Kojima in all of his future endeavours.
