The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt release date facing delay

The Witcher3: Wild Hunt THE ACTION PIXEL @theactionpixelCD Projekt RED has delayed the release of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt on the account of the dismal flurry of poorly crafted AAA titles that have hit us over the past few months.

In bringing the game’s elements together, Wild Hunt has been slated to undergo a few tinkering changes to ensure a fuller, smoother gaming experience, unlike Assassins Creed: Unity or any of these titles.

CDP president and board member Adam Kiciński had this to say about the delay:

There’s a lot of small errors because the game is huge. It’s the only reason behind the delay. We didn’t assume it will be this big. Only after putting all the pieces together it turned out it’s bigger than the two first put together.

Let me remind you: it’s open and not linear. We are just learning how to play it and we have to catch the little pieces. We know what to do, we just have to do it.

We don’t want to release the game with bugs that undermine the gameplay.

And for this we commend CD Projekt RED for doing what other companies have been failing to do as of late- not releasing unfinished games to meet some quota or some other monetary goal. But refining and fine-tuning an immersive piece of gameplay. And with Witcher already defying the norm of expensive DLC packs by offering substantial upgrades for free, CD Projekt RED are surely one production company that are about the customer and the gaming experience.

The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt will now be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One in May 2015.
